MARY KEITHAN Artist/Photographer
Where ever Mary Keithan has traveled she has enjoyed
discovering nature and the challenge of capturing images which attract
her. She photographs the small birds and the big birds of the
Everglades. She admits being there at the right time to catch a unique
moment is both practice and luck.
Keithan has been going to the Everglades every year since 2004 and
usually returns with prize winning timeless moments. There is a bit of
poetry in her landscapes. I like to return to certain spots that have an
enchantment for me. Each time I return the landscape is altered, still I
find the changes offer new opportunities.
Here I am thinking of the devastating storms which periodically ravage
the Everglades. Returning, instead of Roseate Spoonbills and Ibis
roosting in the mangrove trees which were wiped out by Hurricane Wilma,
I found Skimmers giving me a flying display just above the water. What a
show that was!

Every year mary Keithan travels to the Florida everglades to do
photo studies of the wild life, water fowl and birds of prey native
to that habitat.
